Resources for schools are often better for introducing ideas than texts for university students. The
British Library introduction to research offers a straightforward yet interesting approach to creative research.

Understanding Action Inquiry - YouTube
Shean Roberts uses
a 10 minute video on YouTube to explain action inquiry. He explains the actions involved in buying a car as part of his definition, then outlines the main stages in reporting on an example inquiry into time management.
The video shows a clear understanding of the process. Although I had to wait for the video to fully load before being able to watch it properly, it was worthwhile to see how a video could be used as part of a submission to demonstrate understanding.

Tidying your FirstClass mailbox
Students asked about creating folders in their mailboxes, so I used some of the replies to create a
workshop page.

Using photos to tell stories
Set aside 15 minutes to watch a presentation about how the experts tell a story using photos. The photos for an assignment may not be as exotic for many students on the degree course, but they could be used to tell fascinating stories about work-based learning.
I visited the Lady Lever gallery in Port Sunlight, one of the galleries that allows you to take snaps. The collection of sculptures and furniture impressed me.

I used the kids' guide and had fun! Gallery guides for children are more entertaining than the guides for adults - perhaps an option for students to consider when producing their degree exhibitions.
