Anglia Ruskin University has not banned hat throwing at Graduation ceremonies. However, we have advised students to be careful since a student had to be hospitalised after he was struck on the head by a hat several years ago.

In the LTR degree. a creative approach is encouraged but to be creative it helps to understand the requirements of an audience. An abstract for research reports can be very useful. It is not required for the course, but a good abstract may show independent skills for higher marks.
Guidance on the expected layout should be used, and the following is adapted from
ENMA 2008
The abstract should summarize the contents of the paper and should contain at least 70 and at most 400 words. Paper size: A4. Margins: top, 2.5 cm; bottom, 2.5 cm; left, 3 cm; right, 3 cm.
The text of the abstract will be justified, except title which will be centred.
Paper title should be typed at 2.5 cm from the top of the page in CAPITALS and bold and must not be underlined; it will be centred and 16 point font size. After title, there will be one blank line (12 point size), and after that, SID of the author (12 point size). Decorations, logos, degrees and professional qualifications should not be included.
Leave two blank lines 10 point size, write abstract.
Abstract should be set in 10 point font size and should be inset 1.0 cm from the right and left margins. Justified. There should be 2 blank lines (10 point font size) before and after the abstract.
Main text for a research report: Use Times New Roman, 11 point font size. Single-spacing.
